It was a night to remember as Taylor Swift took the stage in Glendale, Arizona, to kick off her long-awaited Eras Tour. Fans had been eagerly anticipating this career celebration since it was first announced last November, and Taylor did not disappoint. With an impressive 44-song setlist spanning her entire career, the show ran for a staggering 3 hours and 13 minutes.

Taylor’s setlist was a nod to each of her respective album eras, with a special emphasis on her latest LP: Midnights. From her debut-era favorite “Tim McGraw” to her latest No. 1 smash “Anti Hero,” she ran through selections from all of her studio LPs, including Folklore, Evermore, Reputation, and more.

Throughout the night, Taylor took the time to explain her artistic turns, too. Before performing “Betty” from Folklore, she shared her love for explaining to men how to apologize. “Basically, this is a song about a teenage boy named James who was trying to apologize to the love of his life, and her name is Betty,” she said.

In addition to “Betty,” Taylor treated attendees to “Mirrorball,” “Invisible String,” “Last Great American Dynasty,” “August,” “Illicit Affairs,” “My Tears Ricochet” and “Cardigan.” But those didn’t come until later in the set, as she opened the show with six songs off Lover, before performing three Fearless tracks, and then five Evermore cuts.

Taylor’s Eras Tour also marked the live debut for several of her songs, especially some off Midnights and Evermore. Fans were treated to a first glimpse into Taylor’s elaborate on-stage set-up and outfits, which nodded back to previous eras with a stunning Roberto Cavalli dress as a nod to Fearless, an Alberta Ferretti dress for Folklore, and a Cavalli top and skirt for 1989.

The stage was also a sight to behold, featuring a see-through house with lit-up rooms, an enormous platform, and many nods to her album eras. Taylor thanked her fans for their support and dedication, saying, “if you’re here tonight, there’s a pretty good chance that you went through a considerable amount of effort to be with us tonight.” On behalf of herself and everyone involved in the tour, she expressed her gratitude and appreciation.

All in all, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour kickoff was an unforgettable experience for fans, showcasing her incredible talent and dedication to her craft. With more tour dates ahead, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s to come from this iconic artist.
