The ‘Views’ rapper was spotted showing off his new ink on Saturday night after releasing his latest EP

Drake has added a new piece of art to his collection, this time on his face.

The 37-year-old “Views” rapper recently got a new tattoo above his right eyebrow, which reads “miskeen.” The Arabic phrase has significant cultural meaning, particularly in the Somali community in Toronto, Drake’s hometown. “Miskeen” can mean “poor” or “pathetic,” but it’s also used to describe someone as “sweet” or “innocent.” This latter definition is more common among Toronto residents.

The tattoo was first seen on Saturday in a photo shared by photographer Brent Kore on Instagram. Drake himself has not yet posted about the tattoo or discussed its personal significance.

This isn’t Drake’s first facial tattoo. He previously got the initials of his mother, Sandra Gale, tattooed under his left eye.

The revelation of his new tattoo coincided with the release of his surprise EP, “Scary Hours 3,” on November 17. Drake announced this follow-up to his 2021 “Scary Hours 2” EP on Instagram. In the announcement video, he expressed feeling creatively energized, likening it to the experience he had with his 2015 project, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.”

“You know, ultimately it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced since If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late where it’s just kind of like I feel like I’m on drugs,” he said. “I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. Who am I to fight it?”
