Jenna Bush Hager, the co-host of Today Show, opened up about her personal journey of reconnecting with her body after facing an ectopic pregnancy, which took place before welcoming any of her three children.

In an interview with Amanda Bartolomeo, the founder of the workout CorePlay, Bush Hager shared how her fertility journey has been influenced by her physical and emotional experiences. She explained how finding one’s core is not only important for physical fitness but also has a deeper, metaphorical meaning for women.

Bush Hager shared that she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy before conceiving her daughter Mila, which made it difficult for her to engage her core due to the multiple surgeries she had undergone, including C-sections, appendicitis, and the ectopic pregnancy itself.

The 41-year-old admitted that going through an ectopic pregnancy was one of the most challenging experiences of her life, both physically and emotionally. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, which can cause damage to nearby organs and even lead to life-threatening situations.

Bush Hager’s experience of having an ectopic pregnancy was not new, as she had first talked about it in 2019 during an interview with Meredith Vieira on the Today Show. She shared how she discovered she was pregnant while on a vacation with friends and family, but when she went to the doctor’s office, she learned that something was wrong.

“I got to the doctor’s office, and she said ‘Yeah, you’re pregnant, we gave the blood test, but we can’t find the baby,’ ” she recalled. “I had no idea what an ectopic pregnancy was. They looked up, and the baby was in my fallopian tube.”

Bush Hager was immediately rushed into emergency surgery, and the experience left her feeling isolated and overwhelmed with a mix of joy and pain.

In conclusion, Jenna Bush Hager’s story of overcoming an ectopic pregnancy and reconnecting with her body is a testament to the strength and resilience of women. Her journey reminds us that physical fitness is not only about building a strong core but also about rebuilding the confidence and self-esteem that may have been lost due to life’s challenges.
