HGTV star Tarek El Moussa shares his personal journey following his split from Christina Hall.

In a recent episode of The Jeff Fenster Show podcast, Tarek El Moussa, 42, candidly discussed the challenging phase he encountered after his 2016 divorce from Christina Hall. El Moussa opened up about his decision to move into a halfway house during this tumultuous period.

“Post-divorce, I found myself in deep soul-searching,” El Moussa shared. “I actually moved into a halfway house, something I haven’t spoken about before.” He explained that his stay in the halfway house was driven by a lack of self-trust during that low point in his life. “I was in a place where I couldn’t trust myself to be alone,” he admitted.

El Moussa delved into the depth of his despair, “It felt like I had lost everything almost overnight, which led me to seek 24-hour care.”

In his upcoming memoir, Flip Your Life, slated for release on February 6, El Moussa plans to reveal more about this dark chapter. The book will encompass his health battles, struggles with steroid addiction, and journey to entrepreneurial success.

Reflecting on his past, El Moussa acknowledged his shortcomings. “I wasn’t the best husband or father then. There’s no excuse for my actions, but I was dealing with a lot,” he conceded.

El Moussa and Hall, who initially wed in April 2009, finalized their divorce in January 2018 after announcing their separation in December 2016. The couple co-parents their two children, daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8.

Their split was marked by an incident involving a gun at their Yorba Linda home. Though it was reported as a “possibly suicidal male with a gun” situation, El Moussa later clarified that he was not suicidal and had the gun for protection against wild animals during a hike.
